Having insulation installed in your Boston-area home probably isn’t something you do every day. It’s not something most people want to try on their own. It’s important for the comfort, safety, and energy of your home, so you want to make sure it’s done properly—and that you get the best possible results. But how do you go about choosing the right installation company? Here’s a look at 5 things to look for when hiring a home insulation professional—and why they matter.
Making sure that your contractor is properly licensed is a big deal. It ensures that the company doing your installation is qualified to do the job to exacting standards. That guarantees your satisfaction and your safety. Our licenses include
- Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor License #171502
- Massachusetts Department of Labor Standard’s Lead Safe Contractor License #LR001298
It’s one thing to see a license or certification online, but verifying this information can be critical to ensure that you’re dealing with a company that is all that it claims to be. If you would like to request copies of these licenses before considering us for your project, please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be happy to furnish the information.
Sure, companies like to win awards—and we’re proud of ours—but the real importance of the awards we’ve won is that they are evidence that our clients are happy with the work we do—and their satisfaction gives future clients confidence in the quality and integrity of our work. That’s the real reason we’re pleased to have been awarded the 2017 Best of Houzz Service Award; the 2017 Better Business Bureau Award for Customer Service; MassHighTech’s Hottest Companies to Watch; and HomeAdvisor.com’s Elite Service & Top Rated Service Awards, among others.
Bonded and Insured
You’ll want to make sure that any company working in your home is bonded and insured to ensure your safety and protection. That’s why all Mass Energy workers are covered by
- Workman’s Compensation
- General Liability Insurance
- Auto Insurance
In addition, we carry bonds with various Cities in Massachusetts, including Boston, Cambridge, and Brookline
If you want to know how confident a company is in its work, check their warranty. The industry standard for insulation installation is a one-year warranty. All Mass Energy Lab Insulation installs are backed up by a TWO-YEAR labor warranty. This labor warranty is separate and is in addition to the stand-alone manufacturer’s materials and parts warranty. Part of the reason for that is that we only use materials purchased from ISO companies that also meet ASTM standards.
When it comes right down to it, the opinion that matters most is that of a customer. It’s their house and their project after all. Here are a few of the reviews we’ve received from recent clients.
Very worth it and exactly how I like to work. Called them on a Saturday. They called right back on a Monday. Came out on Tuesday. Sent me a quote on Wednesday and then installed the following Monday, cleaning and all. Very happy with the customer service from the office indeed and a job done to my standards. Mary Ellen Rogers
One of the best contractors we have ever worked with. Very professional, very quick to respond to our requests and really good quality work. They even patched up an area on the walls that the insulation came through because of some finagling done by a previous contractor. Jessica Ross
Hired them because of all the awesome reviews on here! They definitely are a solid bunch. Happy to have had them insulate our attic. Came out to visit 3 times because it’s a very complex job and they had no issues at all with this as they wanted to be extremely thorough. My HVAC guy was very impressed with their knowledge. You will not be disappointed. Tracy K
